商品説明 /Description of item 木製の穀用一斗樽です。 がっしりと丈夫な造りで、比較的綺麗な状態です。 薄っすらと「穀用一斗 宇都宮」と刻印されています。 樽は、木材の板を縦に並べて底をつけ、たがで締めた円筒状の形をしています。 お酒やしょうゆ、穀物類などを持ち運ぶ容器です。 樽という字は木偏（きへん）に尊（たっと）いの組み合わせです。 「神に捧げる尊い酒壺」という意味で、元々は樽は「神に捧げる入れもの」だったといわれています。 11世紀後半から13世紀には、日本で使用されるようになりました。 特に江戸時代は商業の流通の発達と共に様々な業種で使用され、様々な形や大きさが作られていきました。 空き樽を専門に扱う「空き樽問屋」があり、その為、使わなくなった樽を拾っては問屋に持ち込む「樽拾い」という商売もありました。 江戸時代は、このように酒の樽がしょうゆの樽として再利用されるなど、無駄のない循環システムでした。 既にSDGsのように自然と共に生きる、環境にやさしいシステムが作られていたのですね。 経年による擦り傷が多くありますが、時が経ったことを考えると愛おしいと感じます。 用途は、今の生活スタイルに合わせて、収納や傘立て、鉢カバーなど、オブジェとしても趣があります。 It is a wooden barrel for grain.
