レオヴィル三兄弟の一角「レオヴィル・バルトン」 古典的なボルドーワインながら、洗練されたワイン造りが特徴で、特に近年、人気が高い2級シャトー！ レオヴィル・バルトンは、その兄弟にあたるランゴア・バルトンより優れていると一般的には思われている。2つのシャトーはともにアントニ・バルトンが所有している。ほかの所有者たちと違って、バルトンはブレンドに、しなやかで肉付きのよいメルロをごくわずかしか使わない（1980年代半ばの植え付けの結果、その割合は20%に引き上げられたが）一方で、カベルネ・ソーヴィニョンの割合はサン・ジュリアンの村のみならず、メドック全般においても高い。 隣のレオヴィル・ポワフェレと同じく、1820年代までラス・カーズ侯爵の広大な領地の一部でした。その後、名門シャトー・ランゴアを手に入れたヒュー・バルトンが、1826年に侯爵の旧領地の1/4に当たる畑を入手し、現在でもバルトン家によって伝統的なタイプのワインを造り続けています。 「レオヴィル・バルトン」は、ワインは香り高いアロマと重過ぎずまとまりの良い味わいというサン・ジュリアンの美点をしっかりと備えたスタイルです。特にカベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンの比率が高く、筋肉質でクラシックな仕上がりが特徴。パーカー氏によれば、「メドックでもっとも適正な価格がついたワインの一つ」とのこと。 CHATEAU LEOVILLE BARTON シャトー・レオヴィル・バルトン 生産地：フランス ボルドー サン・ジュリアン 原産地呼称：AOC. It has fabulous aromatics of creme de cassis, graphite, liquid violets, spring flowers, and background oak. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, its purity of fruit is just about off the chart, it has a great mid-palate, and enough tannins to warrant 7-8 years of bottle age. This is another sensational wine from this team that will have 30-40 years of overall longevity. Best After 2030. It offers up a gorgeous mix of vintage 2020 intensity married to the classicism Leoville-Barton have come to expect. Blackberry, graphite, dried herbs, menthol and dark spice abound. Whereas so many Saint-Juliens are exuberant in 2020, Leoville-Barton is very much buttoned up, showing just a twinkle of mischief that lets you know the best is yet to come. ワインアドヴォケイト：95+ ポイント A superb wine, the 2020 Leoville Barton exhibits generous aromas of blackberries and crème de cassis mingled with hints of licorice, pencil shavings and classy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy, with a concentrated core of fruit, sweet tannins and a nicely defined finish, it bears some similarities with the estate's demonstrative 2000 vintage, even if the two growing seasons were quite different. I suspect it will tighten up with more time in bottle, hence the plus sign next to my score, but right now, the 2020 is unusually accessible out of the gates. This great Medoc second growth has been on a qualitative roll in recent vintages, and the estate's brand new winery and chai, equipped with smaller fermentation vats to permit more precise parcel-by-parcel selection, will surely see Leoville and Langoa Barton hit even greater heights. The 2019 vintage, however, made in the old winery, has turned out superbly, uniting the Barton family's signature Cabernet-driven classicism with all the fleshy, perfumed charm of the vintage. In the vineyards, a steadily increasing percentage is farmed organically, and the old manual methods are perpetuated (tying the vines to their supporting stakes using osier instead of string, removing lateral shoots by hand, etc.). As proprietors of much of the appellation's woodland, the Barton family have always been at the forefront of newly fashionable "agroforestry." And periodic replanting increasingly aims to adapt grape variety to soil type, the heart of Leoville-Barton being of course Cabernet Sauvignon growing on the superbly situated quaternary gravel soils of Saint-Julien. In the cellar, barrels are largely supplied by Nadalie, Maury and Taransaud, and racking is traditional.
